FIGHTING FOR YOUR PRIORITIES
THANK YOU
Dear Friends,
As a lifelong resident of Massachusetts I knew from the start that our battle would be an uphill battle at best. Last night we clearly saw that Massachusetts remains to the left of the rest of nation.
Our message was clear and concise, lower taxes, private sector job creation, repeal of Obamacare, securing our borders, ending illegal immigration, reforming Capitol Hill and ending the status quo in Washington. Last night we saw a wave of red sweep across our nation.
Not only did we see establishment Republicans elected last night but we saw a surge of citizen legislators swept into office through grass roots tea party support. In the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and in particular in the 3rd District, we may have lost the battle, but the war is still raging. We will have more battles and we will never give up the fight. |
THESE LAMBS WILL NOT BE SILENCED!
From the start this has been the campaign of the underdog outsider. We fought not only the incumbent but we also fought the establishment system. Our campaign was a campaign of the people. You, "We the People", took to the street, to the phones and to the internet and gave your all to bring my message to the voters. Without the dedication of each and every volunteer and contributor we never would have made it as far as we did. Each one of you can look in the mirror today, look into your eyes, and know that you gave it your all. You should be as proud of yourselves as I am of you.
There is a lot to be proud of. Because of your amazing support, we fought "the machine" and gave McGovern his first real competitive challenge since he took the seat 14 years ago. Despite being outspent 30 to 1, you made it possible to bring our message to the people of the district.
I can't express enough my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you. Words can't do justice to how I feel about you and how much you all mean to me and Peri. Peri and I are truly blessed for all you have done for us and our cause and to be able to have you as our friends. Our lives have been enriched through working side by side with all of you. We look forward to maintaining our friendships and to working as a team again.
Thank you again.

"Turning around our economy starts by electing new people to Congress, and that's why I'm proud to endorse Marty Lamb," Senator Brown said. "As a small business owner, Marty has the experience to help bring about economic change that will create jobs and put people back to work. Marty will shake up the status quo in Washington and will always represent the people in his district, not the special interest groups and lobbyists."
Lamb to McGovern: Stop Signing Letters
Lamb Says McGovern's Judgment is Outrageously Wrong When He Signed a Letter Protecting Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac from Scrutiny
Holliston, MA...October 28, 2010- Today Marty Lamb, Republican candidate for Congress in Massachusetts Third District, criticized Congressman James McGovern's judgment in signing letters. In 2004 McGovern signed a letter to President Bush asking him not to question the "safety and soundness" regarding their practice in making loans for affordable housing.
This comes a day after McGovern was been forced to answer questions why he signed a letter on behalf of a two-time convicted drug dealer.
"This is McGovern's recession. Our home values declined because of his actions. Numerous economists blame the collapse of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac as a major contributing factor for this deep recession. McGovern endorsed their risky practices of giving loans to people who could not afford them," said Lamb.
When questioned the other night at the debate as to whether he regretted signing the letter supporting these faulty practices, McGovern failed to answer. Moreover, McGovern voted this year against reforming Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
"The incumbent should own up to his failures. He failed to stop the housing market burst and added to the collapse. If in 2004 Congress had reined in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, we might have been able to avoid this recession," stated Lamb.
Quotes from the letter:
"We have been concerned that the Administration's legislative proposal regarding the GSEs would weaken affordable housing performance by the GSEs, by emphasizing only safety and soundness. While the GSEs' affordable housing mission is not in any way incompatible with their safety and soundness, an exclusive focus on safety and soundness is likely to come, in practice, at the expense of affordable housing."
"We are very concerned that the Administration would work to foster negative opinions in the financial markets regarding the GSEs, raising their cost of financing. If the intent is to get pro-housing members of Congress to weaken their support of the GSEs' mission, it is a mistaken strategy."
Lamb also noted that McGovern publicly criticized his plan to stop quasi-paid government lobbyists. According to the Wall Street Journal, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac spent $123 million to lobby Congress.
"Going forward we know, due to his attack on my reforms, that the incumbent will not stop wasteful spending or stop bad financial practices. If people don't like the decline in their home values, then they should hold McGovern accountable and vote for me. This is McGovern's recession," said Lamb.
Lamb also says McGovern's ratings are further proof that this is the incumbent's recession:
| Association | Year | Rating |
|---|---|---|
| Chamber of Commerce | Lifetime Rating | 35% |
| Business Industry Pac | 2008 | 20% |
| National Association of Manufacturers | 2007-2008 | 20% |
| National Federation of Independent Business | 2007-2008 | 60% |
| 2005-2006 | 14% |

Marty TV
Voters Deserve More than Sound Bites
October 18, 2010 Holliston, MA ...Today, Marty Lamb, the Republican nominee for Congress in Massachusetts Third District, announced that he will begin airing a 30 minute interview discussing the important issues confronting our nation, state and communities.
"Voters need more substance than a thirty second sound bite. In order to give voters a clear picture of who I am and how I will fight for them in Washington, I will be airing a 30 minute interview. This is serious season," said Lamb. "I want voters to know that I have a plan for reviving the economy, reforming the Congress and making health care more affordable."
Lamb to McGovern: Return The Money
It is a conflict of interest
Incumbent Skips Meeting with Business Leaders for Fundraiser
October 21, 2010 - Holliston, MA ...Today Marty Lamb, Republican candidate for Congress in Massachusetts Third District, challenged Congressman James McGovern to return the thousands of dollars he has received from people who got federal grants and earmarks. Lamb has sent a letter to McGovern explaining how it is a conflict of interest. Lamb is disappointed that the incumbent skipped a meeting of Medway Business Leaders for a fundraiser.
"Congressman McGovern, it is not garbage. It is our tax dollars that are being used to indirectly benefit your war chest," said Lamb. "I know that the Congressman has been in DC for a long time and it clouds his judgment, but that does not change the fact it is a conflict of interest. I challenge you to return the money."
During a debate on WTAG on Tuesday McGovern called the conflict of interest "garbage."
Lamb to McGovern: You are making seniors pay for Obamacare
Lamb Says Medicare Cuts Are Unacceptable
October 7, 2010 - Holliston, MA ...Today, Marty Lamb, Republican candidate for Congress in Massachusetts Third District, criticized Congressman James McGovern for saying Obamacare "is paid for." During an interview on April 1, 2010 with "On the Record," Congressman McGovern claimed Obamacare is "paid for" and it is going to "reduce the deficit."
"The incumbent is just plain wrong. His statement is just more proof that he will say or do anything to push his partisan agenda," said Lamb. "I don't think Medicare cuts for seniors are the way to pay this new government mandate."
After the bill was passed, the Congressional Budget Office reported that new health care law could potentially add another $115 billion over 10 years to government health care spending, pushing the 10 year cost of the overhaul about $1 trillion.
Lamb Will Side With Seniors
Incumbent Has his Priorities Mixed Up
Republican candidate for Congress in Massachusetts Third District, criticized Congressman James McGovern for voting to cut Medicare while also voting to stop consideration of a verification system to stop illegal immigrants from accessing benefits.
"It is ok to cut Medicare for our seniors, but it is not ok to check immigration status to prevent illegals from collecting benefits?" questioned Lamb.
The President's Health Care bill does contain language to ban illegal immigrants from accessing federal subsidies, but with no screening in place or enforcement process, the language is meaningless. In other words, we need a federal "Perry Amendment" to require proof of citizenship. Otherwise taxpayers will be paying for health insurance for illegal immigrants.
Voters can tune into Charter TV3 or watch the video on Comcast on Demand anytime between now and the election.
Lamb Announces Reforms to Clean Up D.C.
Just Lamb, No Pork
Marty Lamb, Republican candidate for Congress in Massachusetts Third District, announced a series of reforms to clean up Washington politics.
"It is time to restore the public’s faith in our system of government and it starts with cleaning up Beltway politics. I will work to implement reforms that restore integrity, " said Lamb.
Lamb’s reforms include the following:
End Earmark Abuse by prohibiting members from anonymously introducing earmarks and stop the practice of inserting earmarks while legislation is in conference committee.
Create transparency in lobbying efforts by requiring lobbying firms to disclose their campaign contributions to Congressional members and candidates.
End quasi-government paid lobbying. According to the Wall Street Journal between 2001 and 2006, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac spent $123 million to lobby Congress.
Eliminate Congressional perks by requiring members to join the same pension system as all other federal employees.
No hiring of immediate family members for staff positions.
Require recipients of earmark funding to disclose money spent on lobbying efforts and campaign contributions they made.
Post all legislation for 72 hours before a vote so public has time to comment. Even more important, Congressional members should read the bills before voting.
"As a business owner, I never sign a contract without reading it first. Hence, when Congress is dealing with legislation costing millions, billions and trillions, they need to read it," said Lamb.
Lamb believes that the passage of Obamacare this year is a prime example of a bill that should have been read. Speaker Pelosi urged passage to see what was in the legislation.
"Only a rare few members read the 1100 page bill that overhauls our health care system. Taking over 16% of our nation’s economy should have been better scrutinized and the first step is to requiring reading of the bill, " said Lamb. "As we all well know the collapse of Fannie and Freddie was a major contributing factor to our economic downturn. Maybe if so much money had not been spent on protecting the status quo for the taxpayer backed corporation, we might have been able to prevent some of the disaster," said Lamb.
Lamb Says Leaving Off Incumbency Status Biggest Gimmick Of Race
September 27, 2010 Holliston - Today, Marty Lamb, Republican candidate for Congress in Massachusetts Third District, called Congressman James McGovern's failure to disclose his incumbent status on the ballot the biggest gimmick in this race. Yesterday the Middlesex News reported that McGovern criticized the "Sick of Congress" barf bags by calling it a gimmick.
"The biggest gimmick in this race is the Congressman attempt to fool voters that he is not the incumbent. If the incumbent Democrat was proud of his record, then he would listed himself as an incumbent," said Lamb.
Lamb also notes that there is no content on the incumbent Democrat's website. There is no issues page. The incumbent fails to state where he stands on any issues. On the other hand, Lamb has been putting out comprehensive plans since last April. He even announced several of them in front of McGovern's office and the incumbent sent his campaign workers to watch.
The Lamb plans are as follows:
· Lamb Chop plan with 19 different suggestions to cut federal spending
· A plan to revive the economy
· A plan to make health care affordable and accessible without a government takeover
· A seven point plan for ending illegal immigration
"Where's your plan, Congressman???" said Lamb. "I guess we already know it. You are going to do more of the same of voting for more reckless spending and voting against pro-economic initiatives."
According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the incumbent Democrat votes against small business issues 65% of the time. Lamb also noted that the incumbent still has not explained his vote on continuing to fund ACORN after they were exposed committing fraud.
Lamb Criticizes McGovern's Failed Policies on Illegal Immigration
Lamb: "Failing to Enforce Our Laws Resulted in Taxpayers Supporting Aunt Zeituni for the Rest of her Life"
September 22, 2010 Holliston, MA...Today Marty Lamb, Republican candidate for Congress in Massachusetts Third District, criticized Congressman Jim McGovern's record on illegal immigration.
"McGovern supports the lawbreakers. I side with the law abiding taxpayers," said Lamb. "If we had enforced the two deportation orders, then Massachusetts taxpayers would not have to support Aunt Zeituni for the rest of her life. It bothers me that she was given taxpayer funded housing ahead of needy veterans. Failing to deal with the crisis of illegal immigration is a costly expense that our legal citizens just cannot afford."
Lamb is reacting to the Channel 4 interview with Zeituni Onyango where she talks about accepting state sponsored benefits.

This is one of the most important elections of our generation. If you are sick of Congress, then I ask you to make a donation today to help me kick off the General Election campaign with momentum.
